Fort Polk

Fort Polk is a military base of the US Army. The base is located in the state of Louisiana near the town of Leesville. The base was built in 1941 and named after Leonidas Polk, a bishop of the Episcopal Church of the United States of America and later Confederate General of the Secession War. In 2008, approximately 11,000 soldiers are stationed in Fort Polk.
