Manya Surve's real name was Manohar Arjun Surve. Because the people of her gang used to call her carnivorate, hence her name Manya Surve was also recorded in the police record. Together with Bhargava and his friend Manya Podhakar, Manya Surve had killed a Dandekar in 1969. All three were arrested in this murder, they were sued and the three were sentenced to life imprisonment. After the punishment, he was shifted to Mumbai's Yerwada jail, but not Mumbai.
