Manya Surve's real name was Manohar Arjun Surve. Because the people of her gang used to call her carnivorate, hence her name Manya Surve was also recorded in the police record. He graduated from Kirti College in Mumbai and when he came into the world of crime, he joined some of his friends who read with him in his gang. Manya brought his half-brother Bhargava Dada to the world of crime. In Bhargava's time, there was a lot of panic in Dadar area. Together with Bhargava and his friend Manya Podhakar, Manya Surve had killed a Dandekar in 1969. All three were arrested in this murder, they were sued and the three were sentenced to life imprisonment. After the punishment, he was shifted to Mumbai's Yerwada jail, but not Mumbai. But the punishment of the mana surve not improved, but it became more dangerous. There was such a horror in his Yerawada Jail that he began to beat the opponent Don Suhas Bhatkar and beat him to death. After coming to Mumbai, he made his gang fresh. In his gang he specially placed Sheikh Muneer of Dharavi, Vishnu Patil of Dombivli and Uday Shetty of Mumbai. Not only this, even the notorious robbers such as Dayanand Shetty, Parushram Katakkar, Moreshwar Narvekar, Kishore Sawant joined the gang too. After making the gang, the people of Manya Surve first stole an ambassador car in Dadar on April 5, 1980 and then sat in this stolen car and looted Rs 5 thousand 700 in Lakshmi Trading Company in Currey Road. Two decades ago, even so many rupees were of great importance. After this, the gang attacked the Shaheed Aziz at Kala Kila in Dharavi, then the enemy of Manya Surve was an enemy of Sheikh Munir. Later he tried a modus operandi written in the foreign novel, stole a car from Barkha power area in Mahim and then looted one lakh 26 thousand in Gowandi and Rs 1.5 lakh in Canara Bank in Sion. Naturally, when his panic grew, there was a question on law and order in Mumbai and the fingers of the police were also raised.

When the police slept after all the criticisms, then the search of the people of Manya Surve started. The police initially caught her partner Sheikh Munir from Kalyan in June 1981. Other associates Dayanand Shetty and Katkar were also arrested from Goregaon. Afterwards, Manya Surve hid away in Bhiwandi, one of her companions.
