Heinrich Adolf Rinne

Heinrich Adolf Rinne (* 24 January 1819 in Vlotho, died 26 July 1868) was a German Otologist active in Göttingen.

In 1855, he published the trench test, which was later named after him, an examination procedure for hearing tests. In this work, he described the anatomy and physiology of the sound conduction at the ear, as well as 22 different tests on the function of the same, including the today known gut test.
