Adamow comes from a Russian writer family. He studied at the Luftfahrtinstitut for four semesters until the entry into the Soviet Union. At the outbreak of war, he volunteered for the front. After his time in the military, he completed a distance study course at the Historical Faculty of the Lomonossov University until 1948. Adamov is regarded as the founder of the Soviet crime scene.
