Sixth floor

Sixth Floor is an independent and literary publisher, in its broadest sense, born in Mexico in 2002 and landed in Spain in 2005.

Its main editorial line is about philosophy, literature and reflections on contemporary issues. Far from strictly commercial objectives, it aims to create a space where you can access certain texts that generally go unnoticed but are pillars of universal culture.

The recovery of little known works of great classics, such as Kafka, Orwell or Robert Musil, joins the edition of some of the most outstanding contemporary authors (Enrique Vila-Matas, Claudio Magris or Goran Petrović, for example), and of new voices of the current Hispanic-American narrative (like Lolita Bosch or Emiliano Monge).

This editorial project was initiated by Mexican writer and thinker Luis Alberto Ayala Blanco.

Collections

The publisher has seven collections: Classics, Children, Narrative, Essay, Illustrated, Realities and Poetry. Awards

In 2004, the publisher won the Young Publisher of the Year International Award and in 2008, the National Award for Best Cultural Publishing in Mexico.
