Basic Primary Education (EPB) is the name of primary education, dictated by the National Law of National Education in Argentina.

It replaces the former EGB I and II, comprises grades one through six, and is divided into two cycles:

At the end of the Basic Primary Education cycle, the student moves on to Basic Secondary Education.

In Venezuela, the level of primary education comprises six continuous years of study that begins in the first grade after the age of six, once this stage of study has been completed; that is to say, passed the sixth grade is obtained an approving certificate of the primary, then begin the studies of secondary level general secondary education.
