Kaan Arslanoğlu


Kaan Arslanoğlu (* 1959) is a Turkish psychiatrist, journalist and writer.

Arslanoğlu lives in Istanbul. As a journalist, he accompanied mainly the military coup in Turkey in 1980 and its consequences. The situation of the intellectuals and political activists of that time are also the subject of his novel characters, which appeared in 2000 in German translation. The psychologically complex work draws on the development of different characters "to explore what the Turkish society of the 1980s has determined" (FAZ).
