Gilles Andriamahazo
Gilles Andriamahazo (born May 5, 1919 in Fort-Dauphin, † September 13, 1989 in Antananarivo) was a Madagascan general and president of Madagascar (Chairman of the National Military Leadership Committee) from 12 February 1975 to 15 June 1975 ).
Andriamahazo was an unofficial participant in both the Second World War and the Algerian War. In 1972 he became military governor of the Madagascan capital Antananarivo. In February 1975 he succeeded the succession of the formerly murdered Richard Ratsimandrava. Until 1976, he was a member of the military commission of the country.
