The Navalmedio valley is located in the central part of the southeast slope of the Sierra de Guadarrama (sierra belonging to the Central System). It is within the municipalities of Cercedilla and Navacerrada, in the northwest of the Community of Madrid (Spain).

This valley is oriented from northeast to southwest, and on the bottom of it runs the river Navalmedio, one of the first tributaries of the Guadarrama River. The valley has an approximate length of 6 km and an area of about 10 km². It is limited, in the northwest, by the southeast slope of Siete Picos, and, in the Southeast, by a mountainous cordala that begins in the Ball of the World and that separates this valley of the one of the Barranca. In the northeast end is the port of Navacerrada, which with its 1,858 meters of altitude is one of the most important tourist centers and mountaineers of the mountains. At the southwest end of the valley is the reservoir of Navalmedio, which has a capacity of 11 hm³ and a maximum surface area of 93 hectares. Its function is to regulate the waters of the river to transfer them to the reservoir of Navacerrada, located at the feet of the neighboring valley of the Barranca. The lowest area of the valley is 1,200 meters above sea level and to the southwest is the municipality of Cercedilla.

The valley is covered almost entirely by a forest of wild pine, which in its lower area alternates with oak, birch and grass. On the northwest slopes of the valley pass the tracks of the Guadarrama Railway, and on the southeast slope is the autonomic road M-601, which crosses the port of Navacerrada, as does the Guadarrama Railway. In addition to these two routes, there are other paths and trails very traveled by hikers and shepherds.
