Ili-ippašra is a kassitic official, known by two letters from Nippur. These letters are addressed to Illija, the governor of Nippur. Ilī-ippašra calls him a brother, which, however, does not have to mean an actual relationship of relationship, but was also a common address among peers. The letters were probably sent from Dilmun and date from Burna-buriaš II (about 1360 BC to 1333 BC). One of them begins with the formula: Inzak and Meskilak, the gods of Dilmun, may protect your life. The letters are of particular importance, as they prove that Dilmun was under Cassitic rule at that time. Ilī-ippašra was probably the statthalter in Dilmun. Edit source text
