Ricardo Zalacaín Jorge


Ricardo Zalacaín Jorge (Bilbao, November 1, 1947), is a Spanish diplomat, from 2007 to 2011 he was the Spanish Ambassador to Finland.

Bachelor of Law and Economics, he joined the Diplomatic Service in 1976. In 1983 he was appointed Director of the Technical Office of the Undersecretariat and in 1985 was appointed Director General of Religious Affairs. In 1989 he was appointed ambassador of Spain to Jamaica and in December 1992 he became Director General of International Economic Relations. In 1996 he was again ambassador of Spain, this time in Algeria and later in Luxembourg. From 2004 to 2007 he was Consul General of Spain in Stuttgart, and from that year until 2011 he was the Spanish ambassador to Finland.
