Han Englishman

Henri Herman "Han" Engelsman (born October 26, 1919 in Amsterdam, died February 8, 1990) was a Dutch footballer. He played for Quick 1888 from Nijmegen in the 1930s and 1940s and was once employed in the national team.

Engelsman already belonged to the extended squad of the Dutch before the war. He was already on the bench at the match against Luxembourg in Rotterdam on 28 November 1937, just one month after his 18th birthday. His first assignment in Oranje, however, took more than ten years to come. On 18 April 1948 he was in the initial formation of the Dutch in the game against Belgium and scored after 20 minutes the leader. After the Belgians had turned the game, Abe Lenstra were able to balance the 2-2 final. This game should remain Engelsmans' only bet in the national team. Single-level Edit source text
