Ustaška mladež (Ustasha youth), UM, was the youth and youth organization of the fascist Ustasha in the Independent State of Croatia (NDH) during the Second World War.
The UM was formed by the Croatian leader, Ante Pavelic, on 4 November 1941, following the example of the Hitler Youth. The subgroups of the UM were Ustaška uzdanica (Ustasha Hope) for elementary schoolchildren aged 7 to 11, Ustaški junaci and junakinje (Ustasha heroes) from the age of 11 to 15 as well as Ustaška Starčević mladež (Ustasha Starčević youth) from 15 to 21 years of age.
The leader of the UM was appointed by the mathematics professor Ivan Oršanić (1904-1968). Weblinks Edit sourcetext Single-level Edit source text
