The San Simón mountain range is located in Bolivia, in the geographical region of Los Llanos, in the province of Iténez, southeast of the department of Beni, at 13º and 30 'latitude and 62º and 10' west longitude and has a height of approximately 700 m.

The Cerrado savannas form a very particular ecoregion that represents in Bolivia the extension of the Cerrado formations of the Mato Grosso plateau. It is distributed in very small areas, being one of the least known areas of the country for its flora and fauna.

The climate is warm because its temperature ranges between 28-35 ° C, although in winter it can fall below 12 ° C.
