Dave Coverly (* 1964) is an American cartoonist.

Coverly, who grew up in Michigan, completed a philosophy degree at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti. He then studied English at Indiana University. He took a year off and worked as an art director and cartoonist. Around 1990 he returned to Indiana and became a cartoonist at The Herald-Times in Bloomington. Since 1994, he has written the cartoon series Speed ​​Bump for Creators Syndicate, which is now published in 400 daily newspapers.
