Andrés Waissbluth (born March 10, 1973 in Wisconsin, USA) is a Chilean filmmaker and screenwriter.

Waissbluth was born in Wisconsin, where his parents lived in exile during the dictatorship of Pinochet, but spent his childhood in Mexico before the family could return to Chile. In his home country, he studied at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, a private Catholic elite university in Santiago de Chile. In 1996, he graduated from the renowned Cuban International Academy of Film and Television (EICTV) in San Antonio de los Baños.

His first works were short films, which were partly played and honored at film festivals. His first feature film Los Debutantes, on the other hand, ran successfully in Chile and was the official Chilean nominee for an Oscar nomination in the category "Best foreign language film" in 2004.
