Parlando (Linguistics)


In the field of linguistics, the term "parlando" refers to a phenomenon which has been particularly prevalent in the last three decades. According to the Swiss university professor Peter Sieber, Parlando designates a text that has typical features of the spoken language, be it in the choice of words and sentence structure as well as in the text structure. Such Parlando texts can be compared with monologous radio manuscripts, if they have been successfully achieved. They seem to be easy to read and read fluently, but a slow, reflective, and inquiring reception is relatively difficult.
