Dagmar Facio Fernández is a philologist, restaurant manager and Costa Rican politician. Daughter of Rodrigo Facio Brenes, outstanding educator and rector of the University of Costa Rica, and founding member of the National Liberation Party.
Dagmar Facio was a founding member of the Partido Acción Ciudadana and opposed to the National Liberation Party, in his own words, he sought to cause harm to the PLN which he criticizes for turning to the right and not honoring his father's democratic socialist legacy. Facio departs from the PAC in 2002. Opposing the Free Trade Agreement with the United States was endorsed by the respective referendum and promoted by the government of liberationist Óscar Arias. Facio was elected a candidate for vice president of the leftist Frente Amplio party as a running mate for presidential candidate, Deputy Jose Maria Villalta, for the 2014 presidential elections in Costa Rica.
