Begg Point


The Begg Point is a land peak on the south coast and near the western end of South Georgia. It forms the northeast side of the entrance to Johan Harbor.

The South Georgia Survey mapped it between 1956 and 1957. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named him after Captain Sinclair Begg, among other things shipman of the corporal Coronda from 1933 to 1940 and between 1947 and 1951 manager of the South Georgia Whaling Company the whaling station Leith Harbor.
