Prodrive P2

The Prodrive P2 is a prototype two-seater sports car designed and built by Prodrive at Banbury and Warwick sites. The car is based on the Kei car Subaru R1 platform and has a modified version of the EJ207 engine used in the Subaru Impreza WRX STi, which normally produces 222 HP but with modifications made Prodrive now produces 345 HP. The design of the car was made by Peter Stevens, who also designed the McLaren F1. The car also features anti-lag (anti-lag) system inspired by rally cars to avoid turbo lag as well as an active center and active rear differential that increases grip.

The active rear differential automatically switches to any of the rear wheels that most need it during a maneuver, based on the sliding sensor readings; This is a common car with rally technology that is rarely seen on road cars. Prodrive has stated that the car could reach a price of around 40'000 €, but has said that there are no plans to put the car into production.

The car was tested on the British television show Top Gear, where "The Stig" drove it giving a lap time of 1: 24.3, surpassing the times of cars like the TVR Sagaris, Audi R8, Porsche 911 Carrera S , Aston Martin Vanquish and Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder. In that same chapter Jeremy proved it doing several turns by which it vomited. It was also stated that the car reached 280 km / h and accelerated from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.8 seconds.
