Operation Ellaa'lan

Operation Ella'lan Part of: Civil War in Sri Lanka On October 22, 2007, twenty-one elite commandos of the Black Tigers invaded the heart of the Sri Lankan air base in Anuradhapura and destroyed eight aircraft, including helicopters, a reconnaissance aircraft, and a training aircraft. At around 4:30 am Air Tigers aircraft attacked the ground command for the attack. After the end of their mission they returned safely to their base in the Vanni. The Sri Lankan Ministry of Defense claimed that only three helicopters were damaged, 13 air force soldiers were killed and 18 injured. Edit sourcetext
