The European Hernia Society (abbreviated EHS) is a grouping of doctors who deal with abdominal surgery. The association was founded in 1979 by French doctors under the name of GREPA (Groupe de Recherche et d'Etudes de la Paroi Abdominale), but was last changed to the current name in 1998 to underline an all-European approach. The association has 19 national subgroups and a total of over 1100 members. It is instrumental in the preparation of guidelines for the treatment of hernia. Weblinks Edit sourcetext
