Andrés López Caballero, active in Madrid at the end of the 17th century, was a Spanish Baroque painter.
It was Cean Bermudez who provided the first news of this painter in view of a picture with his signature, currently lost, in which the Sepulcher of Christ was represented with the three Marys. The painting, according to Ceán, credited the relationship of the painter with José Antolínez whom he imitated. Also Alfonso E. Perez Sánchez found traces of Antolínez in a flight Egypt in flower garland signed with precision in 1687, along with the influence of Juan de Arellano in the flowers and the knowledge of Viviano Codazzi in the classic architectures.
A very baroque composition with Elias in the chariot of fire on the roof of the sacristy of the church of Carmen Carmen footwear of Madrid, signed "Andrés Lo./Caballero FET 16 ..", completes the well-known work of the painter. / p> Bibliography
