Tai Geng

Tai Geng (太 庚) (16th century BC) was a Chinese king of the Shang dynasty.

In Historical Memories he ranks sixth in the list of Shang kings, succeeding his elder brother Xiao Xin (小辛). It was enthroned, with Bo (亳), as its capital. He ruled for 25 years (according to the Bamboo Annals for 5 years), was given the posthumous name of Tai Geng, and was succeeded by his son, Xiao Jia (小 甲).

Inscriptions on oracular bones found in Yinxu place him fifth in the list of Shang kings, succeeding his uncle Wai Bing (卜 丙), giving him the posthumous name of Da Geng (大 庚), and as successor, to his brother Xiao Jia.
