Ruy Ramos


Ruy Gonçalves Ramosu Rui (born February 9, 1957 in Rio de Janeiro) is a former Brazilian-Japanese footballer.

Ramos joined Yomiuri FC in 1977 for 19 years. During this time he made it to 302 appearances in which he scored 83 goals. In 1996, he went to Kyoto Purple Sanga for a year before returning to his now renamed club in Verdy Kawasaki in 1997. In 1998 he finally finished his professional career.

In 1989, he became naturalized and was also eligible to play for the Japanese football national team, for which he then also played 32 international matches between 1989 and 1995.

He supervised the Japanese Beachsoccer team at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2005 and from 2009 to 2013, surprisingly reaching the 4th place with Japan. From January 2006 to 2007 he was a coach at his former club Tokyo Verdy and since 2014 at the FC Gifu. Weblinks Edit sourcetext
