Rio Cuale

The river is a river of Mexico that is born in the mountain range of the Cuale and crosses the mountain community of El Cuale, and empties into the Pacific Ocean in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco.

It is made up of two main tributaries that rise in the Alto de la Sierra del Cuale (also called the Tuito sierra) at a height of 2740 m in the mountains of Talpa de Allende and pass through the old mining town of El Cuale, which takes its name.

Along its route, it crosses the Sierra through beautiful ecosystems ranging from coniferous forest to mesophyll mountain forest of large varieties of conifers and humid jungles in the part closest to the coast.

It is one of the main water sources for Puerto Vallarta.
