Carlos Velasco Peinado


Carlos Velasco Peinado (1842-6 May 1888) was a Spanish architect. It was one of the forerunners of the interior reform of Madrid at the end of the 19th century prior to the completion of the Gran Vía de Madrid, its project was called: "Project to prolong the Calle Preciados". It consisted of the opening of a Gran Vía from Alcalá Street to San Marcial Square.

Biography

In 1867 he received the title of Architect. The 3 of March of 1868 will be approved his "Project of prolongation of the street Preciados" that will be ordered to him to the City council of Madrid being mayor Jose Abascal. When Carlos died, his son Carlos Velasco Peyronnet will defend the original project. Work
