Portal Tomb of Dunhill

Portal Tomb of Dunhill

The Tomb of Dunhill (Irish Dún Aill) is located on a steep south-east slope in the Annestown River valley, not far from Tombs of Ballynageeragh, in the Copper Coast Geopark in the south of County Waterford in Ireland. Tombs are called megalithic plants in the British Isles, where two equally tall, upright stones with a doorstone between them form the front of a chamber covered with a partly enormous cover stone.

The Tomb portal is marked as "Dolmen" on the OSI card. The cover stone, about 4.0 m long, 2.7 m wide and 1.2 m thick, is supported by a single portal stone. The other portal stone is in the chamber, which is filled with other stones and small stones. Edit source text Edit source text Weblinks Edit sourcetext
