Tshikapa

Tshikapa is a town in the province of Kasaï in the south-west of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is located about 64 km north of the Angolan border and 193 km west of the city Kananga. After publishing the Utrecht University Library, the population of the city increased from 38,900 inhabitants in 1970 to 180,900 in 1994. However, since the Congo war has led to large fluctuations in the population number, no precise current information can be provided. Tshikapa was known since its foundation in the early 20th century as a major site of diamond mining. CityLiftingQualification
