Eduard Anthes Prize


The Eduard-Anthes Prize for outstanding scientific works dealing with archaeological topics from the Mittelgebirgsraum is presented by the Verein von Altertumsfreunden in Regierungsbezirk Darmstadt e. V. in cooperation with the Hessian Ministry of Science and the Arts and the HessenARCHÄOLOGIE at the Landesamt für Denkmalpflege Hessen every two years. The prize was donated in 1984 and is named after the prehistorian Eduard Anthes (1859-1922), who was active as a monument preserve in Hessen-Darmstadt from 1909 onwards.
