Alexandria Opera House


The Alexandria Opera House (Arabic: دار أوبرا الإسكندري, also called Sayyid Darwis Theater) is a theater that was built in 1918 and inaugurated in 1921, and is located in the city of Alexandria the second most important in the country African of Egypt was formerly called Mohamed Ali Theater.

It was designed in the style of eclecticism by the French architect Georges Parcq, who was inspired by the State Opera of Vienna and the Théâtre National de l'Odéon of Paris. Since 2000 it belongs to the list of Egyptian heritage.
