Outlaw Blues

Outlaw Blues is a Bob Dylan song. It belongs to his fifth studio album, published in 1965, Bringing It All Back Home.

The song describes how Dylan wants to leave politics behind and approach a bohemian lifestyle, a "outlaw" lifestyle. Dylan knows that "he may look like Robert Ford" (the bandit who shot and killed Jesse James), but he feels "just like a Jesse James."

An alternate version of the song was released as part of the "Three Song Sampler - PE," which contains outtakes from the Martin Scorsese biopic soundtrack about Dylan, No Direction Home.

On September 20, 2007, Bob Dylan performed this song live for the first time during a show in Nashville, alongside Jack White of The White Stripes.
