Markus Uhlmann

Markus Uhlmann (* 1968) is a German professor of flow mechanics at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).

After studying mechanical engineering with specialization in aerospace technology at the RWTH Aachen from September 1988 to 1993, Markus Uhlmann attended the research group of William P. Jones at the Imperial College.

Er promovierte bis April 1997 am Laboratoire de Mécanique des Fluides et d'Acoustique der École Centrale de Lyon mit der Arbeit A Study of Second-Moment Turbulence Closures and Contribution towards Their Numerical Solution in Compressible Flows.

Uhlmann spent his first postdoctoral period at the ETSI Aeronáuticos of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid until October 1999. Afterwards, he went to the Potsdam Institute for Climate Research, where he researched Wavelets from November 1999 to February 2002.
