Los Troncos neighborhood

Los Troncos is a residential neighborhood of the City of Mar del Plata, in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Location

It is located at the height of Playa Grande, a few blocks from the sea. Specifically delimited by the streets Alvear, Saavedra, Urquiza and Almafuerte, inside it is breathed the aristocratic history of the city. It is a luxurious and eccentric neighborhood where you will find the most picturesque residences of the city, large houses and mansions with large gardens. Origin

Its origins date back to 1928, when Rodriguez Peña and Carlos Pellegrini built a new Swiss-style chalet, known as the Casa de Los Troncos, built with quebec and lapacho logs brought from Salta, a private construction that began to be used in other houses in the area and city. Other data

On the outskirts of this area, more precisely on the corner of Güemes and Roca, there is the Plaza del Agua and next to it, an exhibition center.

A very curious feature of this exclusive neighborhood of the most important seaside resort of Argentina are its groves, its European architectural style, the plum rows decorating its sidewalks made of slabs, in addition to being in the most high of the city.
