The Hans Molfenter Prize is an art prize of the state capital Stuttgart, which is endowed with 16,000 euros. It is awarded to artists who are associated with "Southwest Germany and have received recognition through an outstanding artistic work".
Since 1983 every jury has been awarding the prize every two years - since 1995 every three years - which is financed from the estate of the Stuttgart painter Hans Molfenter (1884-1979).
