Fernando Escalante Gonzalbo is a Spanish-Mexican sociologist and intellectual author of Imaginary Citizens, a study on civic culture in nineteenth-century Mexico published by El Colegio de México. Fernando Escalante has written books and articles on politics, sociology and cultural studies; and is a recurring figure in the Mexican media.He has been a collaborator in the Mexican newspapers Milenio, La Crónica, La Razón, as well as in magazines Nexos [1] and Vuelta [2] Conducted several television programs on Channel 11 of Mexico.

Fernando Escalante studied the Degree in International Relations at El Colegio de México, where he also obtained a doctorate in sociology. In addition, he is a professor and researcher at the Center for International Studies of the same institution, where he teaches courses on sociology, politics, culture and social sciences. He also studied at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and has been a professor at the Ortega y Gasset Institute in the same city.
