Andi Meister graduated from the Tallinn Polytechnic Institute in 1962 with a degree in engineering and engineering.

Subsequently, he was involved in the management of the traffic routes of Kohtla-Järve and the Ministry of Autotransport and Transport Infrastructure of the Estonian SSR.

At the beginning of 1990, masters of the democratic independence movement of Estonia, which demanded free elections and the detachment from the Soviet Union, joined.
