He studied at the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture and Graphic Arts at Silpakorn University. In the late 1950s he began his literary work. In 1986, he was named for Panithan Kawee with the S.E.A. Write Award. In 1989, he was appointed a national artist of Thailand. Angkarn also made a name as a painter, among other things with drawings and the painting Prints of Himmapan.
