University of Paris


The Université Ouvrière de Paris was founded in 1932 by a group of professors to teach Marxist science to manual workers and to provide them with a method of reasoning in order to understand the historical moment in which they lived and guide their action. The Workers' University was dissolved by the Nazi occupation of France in 1939.

Among the teachers who organized the Obrera University were: Georges Politzer (1903-1942), Jacques Decour (1910-1942) and Gabriel Péri (1902-1941). Notes and
