Deborah Drattell


Deborah Drattell (New York, 1956) is an American composer.

Born in Brooklyn, where she began her musical career as a violinist. His compositions have been presented by the New York Philharmonic Orchestra of St. Luke's, Tanglewood and Caramoor International Music Festival, and many other groups and venues. Renowned for her operas, she rewrote the role of Nicholas and Alexandra's villain, Rasputin, from baritone to tenor when Placido Domingo expressed his interest in interpreting it.
