Andrzej Abrek was born as the son of professor Andrzej Abrek in Zamość. He studied and earned his doctorate at the Zamojski Academy, where he was appointed professor of rhetoric in 1656. In 1658 he became a doctor of philosophy and canons of the Zamojski collegiate.

From 1664 to 1666 he was the rector of the Zamojski Academy. In 1665 he became a prelate scholastic, later a prophet of Tarnogród and a titular royal secretary. In 1695 he was finally appointed Zamość deputy.

For years, he was in a quarrel with Stanisław Jacek Święcki, Bishop of Chełm and Chancellor of the Zamojski Academy, who wanted to reorganize the academy. Abrek vehemently opposed these efforts.

He wrote several panegyrian fonts in Latin. Edit WorksQualtext Edit source text Standard data (person): Wikipedia person search
