American Bee Journal

American Bee Journal is a magazine on beekeeping published continuously since its founding in 1861 by Samuel Wagner, except for a brief period during the American Civil War.

This is the oldest English-language beekeeping publication in the world. For many faithful readers have passed their newspapers to the sons and daughters in the family of apicultures. In recent years the interest in beekeeping has grown enormously, finding a growing number of hobby beekeepers who subscribe to it.

Many of these hobbyists have other outdoor hobbies and bees are required for honey production and pollination in fruits and vegetables. Readers are amateurs; commercial beekeepers, apiculture supplies distributors, queens breeders, honeycombers, and entomologists.

American Bee Journal is distributed on an annual subscription to the United States and foreign subscribers. It is published in Dadant's Corporate Offices in Hamilton, Illinois, by the Publications Section.
