Palace of Ligüerre

Castle Palace of Ligüerre de Cinca, Huesca.

It is a Renaissance palace built in the 16th century located in the town of Ligüerre de Cinca, belonging to the municipality of Abizanda, in the region of Sobrarbe, province of Huesca, Aragon, Spain.

The palace is located in the village square on the north side, making it the most remarkable building in the town. Description

It is a building composed of three volumes; a tower and two bodies for housing that form an irregular rectangular plant. Its construction is of masonry with reinforcement of sillar in the vertices. The tower has four heights. It is visible from the outside a considerable number of embrasures and loopholes for firearm. The original entrance to the tower is situated from the interior of the townhouse, however it shows a later opening directly from the street. The roof of the tower is gabled. The main entrance to the whole is made from the central body, this being the one of smaller height. The façade of this volume shows a large portal with a semicircular arch made of sillar with a small niche above it. Further up, on the second floor, there is an open window with monolithic blocks. In the lateral part of the set, in the third volume, three windows are opened in vertical, each in a height and all of them lintelled, although of different size.

The interior is completely restored, due to the advanced state of ruin in which it was, now adapted as hotel accommodation. However, the interior doors connecting the tower to the room building remain.
