Hans Lehnert (politician, 1941)


Hans Lehnert (* 21 October 1941 in Wuppertal) is a German politician (SPD).

Lehnert graduated from high school in Berlin and studied economics and social sciences at the universities in Berlin and Bonn. During this time, he was in contact with the Christian Peace Conference (CFK) and took part in the 1st All-Christian Peace Meeting in Prague in 1961. From 1967 he was initially employed by the OTV trade union, and later as a trade union secretary for the trade union education and science. From 1975 he was a member of the DGB-Landesbezirksvorstandes in Lower Saxony. Lehnert joined the SPD in 1961 and has held various honorary functions since then. He was also a member of the local council Laatzen from 1981 to 1986 and became a member of the Lower Saxon Landtag in the eleventh electoral period.
