SASTRA Ramanujan Prize


The SASTRA Ramanujan Prize is a mathematics prize awarded by the Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy (SASTRA) in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, India. It is endowed with 10,000 US dollars and is given annually to mathematicians who are not older than 32 years and have performed outstanding achievements in areas influenced by the Indian mathematician S. Ramanujan. As an autodidact, he had researched extensively, productively, and profoundly in the fields of chain breaks, infinite series, and number theory, and died in 1920 at the age of 32.
