Hans-Jürgen Fraas


Hans-Jürgen Fraas (born 18 February 1934 in Dresden) is a German Protestant theologian and religious pedagogue.

From 1980 to 2000, Fraas was a professor of religious pedagogy and didactics of religious instruction at the Evangelical Theological Faculty of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich. From 1969 to 1980 he was Professor of Religious Education at the University of Augsburg. With a study on the importance of the doctrine of God for dogmatics with Adolf Schlatter and Reinhold Seeberg he promoted to the Dr. Humboldt-Universität Berlin theol., 1968 he qualified at the University of Erlangen with the work Catechism Tradition: Luther's small catechism in church and school. His most important pupil is Martin Schreiner, a Hildesheimer religious pedagogue. His pupils also include Holger Saal, the pastor of the market church (Wiesbaden).
