David Lapoujade


David Lapoujade (Paris, 1964) is a French philosopher, professor at the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne.

Specialist in pragmatism, particularly in the work of William James, his approach is based on the thought of Gilles Deleuze, of whom he was a student. He has also produced works on the thought of Henri Bergson, Henry James and Emerson. It contributes in several magazines, among them Critique, Philosophie, La revue de métaphysique et de morale, Revue philosophique and Le Magazine littéraire.

He has published two collections of posthumous texts by Gilles Deleuze (The Deserted Island and Other Texts, 2002; Two Crazy Schemes, 2003) by Editions de Minuit. In 2003, he also edited the William James Psychology Handbook. Works
