In the year 2000 Andreas Waldherr secured second place in the rallying cup of the Supreme National Sports Commission for the Motor Sports (OSK) of the ÖAMTC for diesel vehicles. Three times (2001 to 2003) he won the OSK Rally Cup for diesel vehicles. Since 2004 Waldherr drove the Austrian rally championship with good success.

The biggest success came in 2006, when he finished third overall. He achieved his first success in the Austrian State Championship on 2/3. May 2008 at the Bosch SuperPlus Rallye on VW Polo S 2000. During his career Waldherr denied 72 rallys, of which he was able to finish three victories. The 2010 season was completed by the runners-up of the VW Racing Austria club behind State Champion Raimund Baumschlager. It did not go well in 2011, where he only ranked eighth after several problems. Even in round races, Waldherr managed to prove his ability; it reached the third place in the 24 hours of Dubai in 2006 and in 2011 it won in a Golf TDI the diesel engine rating.

Andreas Waldherr lived in Thomasberg, was married and father of a son.
