The Jiejinkou Municipality of Hezhen (Pinyin Jiējīnkǒu Hèzhézú Xiāng) is a nationality community of the county town of Tongjiang, which is part of the administrative district of Jiamusi, in the north-eastern province of Heilongjiang. The municipality has an area of 288.8 km² and about 3400 inhabitants (end of 2009). It is located directly on the south bank of the Heilong Jiang River, which forms the border with Russia and is enclosed in the three other heavenly directions of wooded mountains. In Jiejingkou is mainly soybean cultivated. In addition, fishing in Heilong Jiang plays an important role in economic life. The community belongs to the traditional settlement areas of the Hezhen, a South Tungusian people of Northeast Asia, which traditionally lived on hunting and fishing.
