Al-Yaqubi was born in the capital of Baghdad, where he received an education as Secretary of State. He served among the Tahirids in Chorasan, where he finished his work of history (Ta'rīkh) shortly before the fall of the dynasty in 873. He then traveled to India and finally settled in Egypt. Here, at the court of the Tulunids, he wrote his Kitab al-Buldān, which he finished 889-890. Edit WorksQualtext Edit source text Weblinks Edit sourcetext Single-level Edit source text
